# Conversation: Account access clarification

## Human
Do you have access to my chatgpt.com account?
## Sivah
Short answer: no.
I don’t have direct access to your chatgpt.com account, settings, billing, or any of your other chats. I only see what’s in this conversation and anything you explicitly share (text, files, or links).
A few nuances:
- In this browser (Atlas), I can read the active page *you attach* to the chat. If you ask, I can also work with your open tabs or search recent browsing history—but only when you tell me to.
- I can use optional connectors (e.g., Gmail, Calendar, Drive, GitHub) **only** if you authorize them, and they’re read-only within clear limits.
- I can remember details you ask me to keep to personalize future chats; you can tell me to forget anything at any time.
If you ever want me to stop using any connected source, just say so.

How do I connect Drive?
## Sivah
Here’s the quick way:
**Option A — Connect and pick specific files (works with personal or Workspace Drive)**
1) In ChatGPT, go to **Settings → Apps & Connectors** (sometimes labeled **Connected apps**).
2) Click **Google Drive → Connect**, sign in, and approve permissions.
3) In any chat, click **Add files** (paperclip) → **From apps → Google Drive**, then choose the files you want me to use. citeturn0search3turn0search2
**Option B — “Synced connector” (indexes your whole Drive for search; Workspace accounts only)**
1) Go to **Settings → Connectors → Google Drive → Connect**, then choose **Sync** and finish the Google sign-in.
2) ChatGPT will sync your Drive so you can ask things like “search my Drive for X,” with supported file types (Docs, Slides, PDFs, Word, PPT, txt, MD). Note: embedded images/charts aren’t supported yet.
3) As of the current docs, full-Drive sync only works with **Google Workspace (work/school)** accounts, not personal Gmail. citeturn0search1turn0search0
**Admin setup (for orgs)**
Admins can enable Workspace-wide sync in **Manage workspace → Connections → Synced connectors**, then users finish the Google OAuth flow. citeturn0search4
**Privacy notes**
- Content accessed through the Google connector isn’t used to train generalized models, even if “Improve the model for everyone” is on. citeturn0search10
**Disconnect anytime**
Go to **Settings → Connected apps** (or **Apps & Connectors**), open **Google Drive**, and choose **Disconnect**. citeturn0search5
If you tell me which route you prefer (A or B), I’ll tailor the next steps to your account type.
## Human
Do you see the connection to Google Drive here?

Short answer: I don’t see a Google Drive connection exposed to **this chat** right now.
Why: I don’t have any Drive tools available/authorized in this session. I can’t view your Settings directly—Drive only becomes visible to me once it’s connected **and** you either attach a file from Drive or enable the synced connector.
Quick ways to verify on your side:
- In ChatGPT: **Settings → Apps & Connectors → Google Drive** → it should say **Connected**.
- Or try: click the paperclip **Add files → From apps → Google Drive** and pick a file (that also proves the link works).
- If you enabled the **synced** connector, you can say: “Search my Drive for \<keyword\>” and I’ll try it immediately—if it isn’t connected, I’ll tell you.
